The mind of every creature should be held in equal regard with that of the human intellect. Not realizing that all consciousness represents some sort of reason is a mistake that every speciesist makes.

How can we be sure that animals don't possess a deeper reasoning of the world they live in?
"Pigs on factory farms don't need to thank anyone for their miserable existence, confined indoors on bare concrete for life. They'd be better off not existing at all" (840).

I agree. The torturous lives that factory farm animals are forced to endure aren't even worth living.

This is a horrible way to spend one's life.
